May The Note Passing Begin

In school, our teachers told us not to pass notes. Of course, in those days our notes said things like “Bobby is cute,” or “Will this class EVER end?” But now that we are older, wiser, and our notes are a wee bit more sophisticated, I say: Let the note passing begin!

So…Why Are You Sharing Your Notes?

As a writer and illustrator, I find myself constantly learning. As I work on my craft and get closer to submitting to editors and agents, I’ve found myself spending a good deal of time online reading publishing blogs, as well as attend conferences and workshops.

*Ingrid stands up in front of the group*  Hello, my name is Ingrid Sundberg and I’m addicted to learning. Yes, I’m a full-fledged conference junkie.

Not only do I love to attend seminars and workshops, but I’m pretty famous (within my critique group at least) for taking excellent notes. So why not share? After all, shouldn’t we writers and artists help one another to succeed? I think so.

Thus this blog is born!

I do want to mention, I am a young adult writer, and children’s book illustrator – so much of the content of this blog will revolve around these topics. I also have a background in screenwriting, so I may sprinkle in some things on that topic as well. Storytelling is storytelling after all! Therefore, I anticipate these notes will be applicable to other markets as well.

Welcome, explore, and may the muse be with you!

Ingrid
